Open Kitchen

As food parks keep on sprouting all over the metro, we tumbled upon a newly opened one in Quezon City.

It’s called Open Kitchen and it’s located along P Tuazon.

So many ‘kitchens’ to choose from.

Here is the map of the kitchens in 2 floors.

There could be at least 30 kitchens available now. And there are a few more opening soon.

Tables and chairs scattered all over. There is even a rooftop aside from the General Dining Area on the 1st and 2nd floor.

Our family loves to eat! We ordered different dishes from different kitchens!

Starting with my number 1 bet!

The Bourbon Whiskey Glazed Pork from Charlie’s Point is one of the bests!

Very very tasty ribs. Super tender. Even the rice is flavored.

I also love the Classic Pan Fried Dumplings from Momo Dumpling Bar! They have Black Pepper Dumplings also.

Inihaw na Bulaklak from Biggy’s

The barbeque marinade is good. But the fact that the bulaklak isn’t chicharon and crunchy, doesn’t sit well with my taste buds.

They also ordered another steak at the Meat Pub, tasted good but not as flavorful as the ribs in Charlie’s Point.

My aunt wanted to try this. Its called Ispabok – a fusion of spaghetti and palabok. This dish was the last to finish.

The lechon has super crunchy balat (skin) and super tender laman (meat)!  They got this at the Carnivore Cookery!

Going a little bit Japanese with this Spicy Ramen and Takoyaki at Taka Ramen.  Waited for this Takoyaki for a very long time and the wait definitely is not worth it.  The ramen is okay though!

Something fried, get this at Seafood Squad.  We love this because it’s crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside.  It’s not chewy so it’s ok for kids and seniors.

The following are our family’s other choices!

Prata from Senyor Roti

Chicken Wings

Pork Ribs from Kanto Ribs.

Chicken Pops

Shrimp on Garlic

Laksa

Philly Cheese Steak

The Ham and Cheese Raclette from Mr Raclette.  Too expensive for its worth.  Too salty.

Our taste buds differ from yours so go find out what your own hits and misses are.  This food park doesn’t have those commercialized stalls that you see in almost all the other food parks in the Metro.  Maybe we could support this budding culinary geniuses.   We might be able to make some of them break out and for the rest, there’s always room for improvement.

Open Kitchen is located at 22 P. Tuazon Blvd, Quezon City, 1111 Metro Manila.

Pros:  A big parking lot beside the food park.

Cons:  Parking is not Free (unless you go in late at night)

Where to eat in Subic?

Shopping posts done now, what else to do in Subic but EAT!

Since this was just an overnight stay and we have free breakfast from our hotel, we only got to eat 2 meals inside Subic.

Would we pass the chance to eat at good ‘ol Meatplus? The answer is NO!

The place was still bustlin’ and I think it’s the only place outside of a mall that really is full house regardless of the time in a day!

Hubby ordered Oven Roast Beef Belly while I ordered for BBQ Pork Ribs. Serving is huge! We were supposed to try the Potato Skin but I mistakenly ordered the French Fries. Still good though. We were both filled that we didn’t have room for dessert anymore (as always!).

For our dinner that night, we wanted to try Cocolime but decided against it because it was late already. We were still in the mall and aside from the regular Manila based restos, this was the only local place that has so many people eating.

Ben’s Kitchen is an affiliate of Xtremely Xpresso which is a famous resto also in Subic.

We ordered 3 dishes because everything seems to be good. We tried the Shrimp Linguine, Buffalo Wings and the Beef with Mashed Potato dish that I forgot the name already.

2 cream based dishes needed to be balanced by our little tangy buffalo wings! Had a great dinner. Even at 9pm, people were still going in. That’s how good the place is.

You could also have coffee and desserts here if you already had dinner.

So there! Try these places out when you drop by Subic. You won’t regret it!
