Ippon Yari – Authentic Japanese Restaurant

There’s a hidden gem along Real Road in Calamba, Laguna.

Ippon Yari boasts of an extensive menu which offers everything Japanese from Soba, Udon, Ramen, Sushi, Sashimi, Gyoza, Dons, Beers and so much more.

We were just in time for their 11am opening. This branch is so spacious.

They also have this kind of seating to enhance your Japanese experience.

This Japanese restaurant is also home to Japanese employees working at a nearby factory. They get their fix here and I think the ambiance and the food make them feel right at home.

They also have Japanese magazines and Manga books to keep you entertained while waiting for your food.

Now, let’s discuss their food. Their price is way affordable than other Japanese restos.

Shrimp Okonomiyaki

Japanese pancake with shrimp, asked them to separate the sauce – mayo and katsu. This is so good!

Charashi

Raw set for my husband. Quality of the sashimi is good.

Chasumen

This ramen is a little salty to our taste. But the meat is very very tender.

Gyoza

Get this for 100 pesos only when you order together with a Ramen. Love the gyoza. It’s filled with veggies, pork meat and seafood.

Tempuradon

I love their Tempura! From tip to tail, there’s shrimp! Crunchy even if there’s sauce all over it.

Tempura Udon

Daughter asked for an Udon and she finished the whole bowl. Just like the Ramen, the soup’s a little salty to our taste.

There’s more to try on their menu so will definitely be back.

The service is good and for me, that’s an important factor whether to visit a restaurant again!

Ippon Yari also has branches at Sta Rosa, Laguna and at Malvar, Batangas.

Happy eating!

Thanks Traveloka!

I am not sure if I have announced here that I won at one of Traveloka’s Facebook hashtag games a few months ago!

I am an avid fan of Traveloka as I almost always book our hotels and airline tickets through it! Not only is it convenient and hassle free, it’s also cheaper than most travel booking companies. They always have these promos which slashes the prices by a few hundreds.

So back to my winning, since I booked my Taiwan hotel and airfare through Traveloka and they have this advertisement about a couple dealing with everyday life stress and a break, or a vacation rather, is all they need, I immediately thought of what me and hubby just went through. The Taiwan vacation we had is a breather for both of us.

I posted what I felt and that it also happened to us and my answer got picked by Traveloka and it was featured on their page.

This was my comment!

And then, I got picked!

This was the feature Traveloka made. Just like us, you may also want a breather too!

Traveloka gave me Php3000.00 Travel Voucher for my #TravelokaBestTripEver entry! Amazing right? Traveloka is the B.E.S.T!

See more of our staycation in the next few days! ❤

Merry Christmas! 🎄

Romantic Baboy

Sharing my experience with the newly opened Romantic Baboy at NS Amoranto (Retiro).

Waiting is not a problem, they have a lot of monobloc chairs outside. And they also have a big air cooler outside.

Since my friends and I haven’t seen each other for so long, we didn’t mind the waiting. As long as it’s not hot and we’re seated. 😉

I took some shots immediately after being seated. Even the plate has words written on it. I love the cute design. 🌹🐷

4 kinds of dipping sauces.

Side dishes for you to munch on while meat’s still cooking.

The oh so clean grilling station with the spaces on the sides for melting cheese and cooking egg.

Now, let’s get the game going with the meat!

They serve the meat on a chopping board etched with Romantic Baboy’s name.

Super thinly sliced beef though.

I also love the Galbi.

Bulgogi tastes so good.

Called for so many orders of cheese. Love the cheesy goodness of beef wrapped in melted cheese.

Overall, the ambiance is good. Unlike other samgyupsal resto, Romantic Baboy actually thought if its interior. Too bad wasn’t able to take photos.

However, due to the influx of people eating, service wasn’t that efficient. You have to wait for a while before someone attends to you. Maybe they lack manpower too. And because they are too tired, they are not very friendly also. I do understand but somehow, managing a smile will make a big difference, especially when customers actually waited for more than half an hour or more to get a seat.
