Flavors of Taiwan

Another hidden restaurant in San Juan found. Flavors of Taiwan specializes in Taiwanese Cuisine.

First time to dine here and there were some hits and misses.

These are what we ordered that night.

Xiao Long Bao

Xiao Long Bao’s becoming a staple because it’s one of our daughter’s favorites. Flavors of Taiwan’s version tastes okay. However, the cover breaks easily so the soup spills every too often.

Pork Dumpling

I like this better than the Xiao Long Bao. The meat filling is tastier. The serving size is just right.

Taiwan Sausage Fried Rice

Instead of the usual Yang Chow Fried Rice, order this. The Taiwan Sausages’ sweet salty taste pairs well with the rice.

Fried Kingfish with Mango Salad

Two thumbs up! The Fried Kingfish is so crunchy. The sweet mango sauce complements the fish.

Salt and Pepper Squid

Your usual salt and pepper squid. Lacks the crunchiness, but the squid is tender.

Three Cups Chicken

The chicken tastes fine on the outside, a little bland on the inside though.

There are a lot more items in the menu and we will definitely try them soon.

The Makeover Lounge

Everyone needs some pampering, agree? But for practical moms like me, it shouldn’t be too costly. That’s why I am recommending The Makeover Lounge, experience inexpensive, fuss free but first class services here!

The interior makes you feel relaxed. The white walls and blue furnitures will definitely calm you, especially after a stressful day at the office.

Upon entering, you will be greeted by the staff and asked what services you’ll be availing. Since it was a weekday and they were only attending to 1 client, I was immediately seated.

Don’t let these chairs fool you! These are high tech massage chairs. It even comes with a foot spa basin and it comes out with a push of a button! No need for palangganas (plastic basins) to be carried out.

It has its own water jet system too!

There are so many brands of polishes to choose from. From OPI, Revlon to Bench, they have it all. So many colors that I chose to just have the basic red from OPI. 😂

This was me feeling sleepy and super relaxed! Did I tell you that the chairs are massage chairs? All through out my mani, pedi and foot spa session, I was having my back massaged. It felt so good, kneading through my aching back.

After simple joys like this, I am recharged and ready to take on my mommy duties again!

Don’t feel guilty mommies, it is our right to feel pampered once in a while.

The Makeover Lounge is located at 81 Xavier Residences, City of San Juan.

Ang Huling El Bimbo 2019

One of the best musicals ever!!! First I want to thank my sponsors for our complimentary tickets, thank you so much Ann and Mac! 😘

Ang Huling El Bimbo’s story revolves around 3 friends and their journey in school and in life.

The whole team of Ang Huling El Bimbo made a good musical out of Eraserheads’ songs. Kudos to Mr Dingdong Novenario (writer) and Mr Dexter Santos (director)!

Even the set is amazing.

Eraserheads is the best rockband ever! More than 2 hours of Eraserheads’ music, it brought me back to the 90’s! It feels so amazing to still know the songs by heart!

A short video we took toward the ends of the show! Just can’t help it!

Everyone’s amazing! Shout out to Hector, Emman and Anthony! Of course to Tiyang Dely and Joy! 😘

Ang Huling El Bimbo is about friendship, there may be some tragedy, but there is ultimately forgiveness, hope, new beginning and love.
