Maximizing Credit Cards this Holiday (Shopping) Season

Today is December 1 and only 24 days to Christmas! As such, everyone is busy spending and shopping for gifts to family and friends. Some of us like to use cash in purchasing but using credit cards (just make sure to pay fully on due date) is the way to go for me! To maximize these credit cards, we have to take advantage of the different promotions of the credit card brands here in the Philippines!

PNB Cards

Spend as low as Php2,000.00 and you can already get something in return.

I claimed my Large Gong Cha Milk Tea with Pearl Jelly from Gong Cha Philippines yesterday. It’s so easy to claim, you just tell the cashier that you will be claiming your free milk tea from PNB Cards. Show your credit card and they will swipe it, they don’t even need your charge slip anymore.

It’s either this Php95.00 worth of milk tea from Gong Cha Philippines or Php100.00 worth of The SM Store GC.

BDO Cards

Spend a minumum of Php3,000.00 and get Php100.00 worth of GCs.

Once you have your charge slip, it’s better to pre-register and get your codes at the BDO Treats Website. This is to save you time when claiming at the affiliate stores of Bench and at branches of Pancake House.

When claiming, give your card and your charge slips with written codes and wait for them to issue you your GC.

CITIBANK Cards

Spend Php800.00 at National Book Store and get gift cards worth Php150.00.

I haven’t tried this yet but this sure is a good deal. We could buy a lot of school and office supplies over at NBS that could work as Christmas gifts too!

METROBANK Cards

If you have a Metrobank Toyota Mastercard, you could have treats from McDo! Spend of Php2,000.00 gives you McDonald’s treats while a Php3, 000.00 spend will give you an eGC.

Who doesn’t want a McDonald’s treat?

Do take note of each promo’s redemption period. Read the terms and conditions to save you the hassle of arguing with the respective banks.

Christmas Hacks

It’s one day before December and we are busy getting gifts for our loved ones. But it doesn’t mean that we can’t let our creative juices come in. We could also try to lessen the waste by reusing stuff found in our houses.

These are some of the Christmas hacks we did for this year’s gift giving season.

1) loombands gift tags

I am sure a lot of us has a stash of loombands somewhere in the house. Remember the year it was so IN?

My daughter’s gifts to her classmates are colorful pens and instead of wrapping it with gift wrappers and waste a lot of paper in the process, we thought of just putting mini gift tags on it.

We printed the gift tags on our stash of board papers at home, got the loombands out and voila, we got our own diy loombands gift tags.

2) old travel magazine gift wrapper

Another thing I decided to do is to use old travel magazine’s pages as gift wrappers. The item is a travel luggage tag and what more fitting than using paper with beautiful pictures on it.

3) reusing paper bags

From shopping and gifts from previous years, we have accumulated all sizes of paper bags. So I reused them for this year’s gifts.

Just put on some holiday tags and they are good to go.

I will be updating this post once I think of more Christmas hacks that could benefit not only me but the environment as well.

Thank you for your time! 😘

ShopBack – The Smarter Way

Have you heard about this new app? It’s what I have been using for the past few months – for travel needs, for food orders and even for online shopping!

Before going to sites like Foodpanda, Klook, Shopee, Lazada or Booking.com, click the ShopBack app first. This way, all your purchases will have corresponding rebates. Rebates that can get as high as 30%!

WOW right!

Read on ↓↓↓ to start getting rebates

1) Download the ShopBack app. Click this link and open the world of rebates. It’s available in Google Playstore and Apple Appstore.

2) Sign up and get ready to earn rebates!

3) Go to the app or site of your interest. The percentage of rebate varies. ShopBack has a lot of affiliates and tie ups. From hotels, to airlines, to beauty brands, to online shopping platforms, to food delivery platforms – you name it, they got it!

4) Once you are in your chosen website, browse normally and purchase as you would. You could also use voucher codes. I usually get mine from Globe Prepaid. For every Php400.00 purchase, I get Php200.00 off! But that’s another story!

5) ShopBack will notify you that your purchase / transaction has been tracked.

6) A month or 2 after your purchase, your rebate will be credited to your ShopBack account. You can see below that some of my purchases have already been confirmed.

7) Once you reach Php200.00 on your ShopBack account, you can redeem and credit it to your bank account, free of charge! I have already withdrawn Php700.00 to date! I still have a few purchases either pending or tracked and once they are confirmed, I could withdraw again!

You could register an E-wallet from Paypal or your bank account from BDO, Metrobank or BPI for your withdrawal. It takes about a few days to get credited on your account.

It’s that easy! Just remember to click that ShopBack logo first before booking anything.

Oh and just a few reminders from ShopBack.

The amount eligible for rebates is net of the service charge, delivery charge, taxes and fees. It is also net of the voucher codes used.

I hope ShopBack could be rewarding to you as it has been to me! It is so easy to use. All your activities / transactions are recorded for your monitoring convenience.

Enjoy shopping!

Enjoy ShopBack – The Smarter Way!

Killing Time (at Greenhills Shopping Center) in the Middle of A.P.E.

When you’re employed, having an Annual Physical Exam is required. It usually takes up a whole day or more if you need to do some follow up tests or if you need to see a different doctor. In my case, today is my 2nd follow up and I came in as scheduled for my laboratory and blood work. However, I needed to do some more tests which can only be done in the afternoon. Instead of going back and forth, I decided to just stay and roam around. It’s the best thing to do, and one of the reasons I chose Health Cube in Promenade Greenhills. It’s 12nn and I basically have 5 hours to burn.

This is how I killed time. I went up to the ground floor, browsed at Fully Booked and bought the 3rd book from the Crazy Rich Asian series, Rich People Problems.

Planning to read it while waiting. I also thought of watching a movie but went against the idea. After paying for the book, I felt my stomach grumble so off I walked to the other side of Promenade and to the foodcourt. I have charge slips to convert into GCs at Bonchon. #freelunch 😂😂😂 I had my lunch there and I stayed about an hour. To my surprise, the chicken’s so juicy.

After my 1 hour lunch. I decided to walk towards Shoppesville and VMall. I passed through all the different restos. There’s Bizu, Cibo, Gerry’s Grill, Isla Pulo, Pedro and Coi, Hokkaido Santouka Ramen and many more.

I crossed over to Shoppesville, the main shopping area of Greenhills Shopping Center! So many things to see here.

The fountain which you could only see from the 2nd floor, it’s situated in the middle of it all. Too bad it’s covered by the shops on the ground floor.

2nd floor is dedicated to the gadgets and accessories, it has a passageway going to the Vmall. I didn’t go through this area because I didn’t want to be offered left and right, I also have no intention of buying any gadgets or accessories.

Back to the ground floor where I mostly walked (and shopped), it has aisles and aisles of clothes, bags, and home decors.

Scored some super affordable everyday wear. I love the colors and the fabric of these blouses I bought. These 3 blouses set me back for less than a thousand bucks! 🤑🤑🤑

And I am so loving the black one. ⬇⬇⬇

There’s also an area for home decors, artworks and antiquities.

An area’s dedicated to shoes that are locally made, The Shoe Center.

If you like branded watches, bags and shoes (Class A to Class AAA), you could definitely find it here. There are also rows and rows of jewelries especially pearls.

Another thing that Greenhills kept from way back is the open garden that connects two areas. It also has a chapel where shoppers can say a prayer or two.

After Shoppesville, I also went to the Shoppesville Plus and the Toy Area near the Theatre Mall. I enjoyed looking at the toys I forgot to take pictures!

After about 3 hours of non stop walking, I was so thirsty and tired, I decided to go back to Health Cube and just read and wait there. The doctor came early and I was done by 530pm.

The Greenhills Shopping Center also added a new building for Uni Mart, a grocery store, and O Square 1 and 2, where you could find mostly restaurants.

So there, I hope you learned a thing or two from my experience today. Share share share!

What to do in Seoul: Daiso Shopping!

8 floors of Daiso! Can you just imagine???

Well, you will find this gem of a treasure hunt at Myeongdong in Seoul.

Running out of time, we decided to just spend half an hour in this massive building. Of course, there was a little bit of overtime! 😂

Just a go through though, here’s a floor by floor rundown of the 8 floors! And as a tip, you always start at the top floor. Take the elevator up then take the stairs going down. Makes sense?

And of course, since I was hurrying up to pay for my purchases, I forgot to take picture of the ground floor! Forgive me since I’m on overtime already!

So many cute stuff to buy! But my hands were tied as my luggage can’t handle it anymore! Blame it to Korean Air which only allows 23 kgs of check in baggage! 🙄

Daiso also offers Tax Refund but you have to do it at the airport. You have to ask for a receipt and your purchase must be KRW 30,000.00!

More of my Korean Trip soon!
