TuanTuan Chinese Brasserie

Found ourselves in the quaint space that is TuanTuan Chinese Brasserie in the ground floor of the Promenade in Greenhills.

One of the Best Pork Buns can be found in TuanTuan Brasserie. In my opinion, it is better than Tim Ho Wan’s!

Very soft snow buns and it has that melt in your mouth feeling to it! πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘ŒπŸ‘Œ

For the cheese lovers out there, this dish is definitely for you! This baked seafood rice is oozing with cheese! Another good thing with this dish is that it has a variety of seafood and not too many rice!

Pork Congee for the oldies!

Steamed Minced Pork Rice – a little dry for me. πŸ‘Ž

DIY Noodles with Choice of Side Dish

Kids’ choice – Prawns and Wanton Dumpling in Fish Lip Soup

Side Dish 1 – Veggie Rolls – wrapper not crunchy but the meat / veggie is tasty

Side 2 – Chicken Wings – looks not appealing but it’s crunchy and tastes good.

Something to experience with the whole family. More of the menu to try.

Gringo – Chicken, Ribs & Friends

Found a new place to hang out and enjoy food with friends and family! Gringo is located at Ayala Malls the 30th.

Ayala Malls the 30th is one of the newest malls to open here in Pasig City and it’s just a stone’s throw away from Estancia Mall.

Unlike the more popular malls around the metro, this mall has just the right amount of people, your basic mall needs like supermarket, drugstore and bookstore, lots of trendy boutiques for your shopping needs and a cinema for your entertainment needs. No lines, no frills. The way I like it.

Back to the resto, Gringo’s interior is very homey. It’s like you are in your Aunt’s kitchen. Wood finishes, industrial look.

They serve the best nacho platter in the world! I am not exaggerating! It really is tasty and crunchy! Their lemony tangy sauce is love! ❀❀❀

We ordered a Trufle Queso quesadilla but it didn’t deliver. Can’t taste the cheese at all! Too bland.

Moving on to the kids’ dish – Chicken Fingers & Fries! Cooked just right – chicken so tender & fries so crunchy. And this Chicken Tenders is only Php135.00!

Since it’s Tex-Mex cuisine, there is also burrito on the menu! According to husband, it tastes good and it’s not scrimped!

Their 1875 Pot Stewed Beef is to die for as well! You will have to order rice to partner with this dish! The sauce in itself is already so good and very rich in flavor! Top it with beef that was boiled for hours and hours – heaven!

Of course, there is the Roasted Chicken with Sidings! You go for the Southern Spice than the Original. The chicken is juicy, very flavorful. The spices really add so much flavor to it.

Let us talk about the Mashed Potato! It’s freshly made, need not say anything no more. Anything that’s made fresh will always be on top!

On our 2nd trip, we pretty much ordered the same dishes but we added a half rack of ribs and oh! It tastes as good as the chicken! Too bad we were too hungry that a picture wasn’t in order anymore. So I just grabbed us some picture from Gringo’s Facebook Page.

I am getting hungry from all these, so I will see you later folks! Heading over to Gringo to grab me some chicken and ribs! πŸ˜‚

Cup Noodles anyone?

On our last day in Singapore, we zeroed out our MRT cards in Cheers – one of their convenience stores! Β Found these cup noodles and bought some!

I think these flavors can only be found in Singapore!

laksa

black pepper crab

chilli crab

I just find it amusing that they have these Singapore dishes in a cup noodle!

As of date, hubby already tried the Chilli Crab and it’s really spicy!

I bet the other 2 flavors are as spicy as the Chilli Crab!

Well, if that is the case, I’d stick to my Japan original flavor of Seafood instead!

makansutra

A trip to Megamall one Saturday led us to Singapore.  Yes, to Singapore!

Makansutra is a like a food hub with various restos and each of them has its own Singaporean food specialty.

The place is interestingly nice.  I like its artistic interior here and there.  Even the tables and chairs stand out on their own.

They have Real Sugarcane Juice.  They do it on the spot.  This drink is believed to be nutritious and refreshing.

For other refreshments, they have a Central Area where you can order whatever suits you.

Take a look at their restos.

Curry Flurry is where we ordered Prata.  It was a last minute order so we weren’t able to eat it there.  We just took it home.  The prata is not chewy. The filling is hot though.

Donald and Lily is the one serving Laksa.  We weren’t able to order one.  This is for next time.

Geylang Clay Pot is where we ordered their famous Clay Pot Chicken and Mushroom Rice.  Their small size is definitely not small.

The claypot is not only full of rice, it is full of chicken meat and mushrooms and veggies.  Soy based but not all salty.

Next is the Hong Kong Street Old Chun Kee.

More like Chinese style cooking than Singaporean style cooking.  We ordered Seafood Fried Noodles and Sweet & Sour Pork.

Noodle sauce a bit salty though.

Sweet & Sour Pork delicious.  Still crunchy pork bits despite being stir fried with the sauce.

I forgot to take a shot of the resto that sells Satay.  But this is the best of them all.  Tasty and Tender.

Some of the restos we weren’t able to try.

Very good food experience for us.  And the greater the service we received that day.

Employees are so friendly.  They are attentive to your needs.  No wonder because their boss is as friendly as they are.

I approached him and asked for a picture with my 2 kids.  He happily agreed.

The owner of makansutra is the famous Singaporean KF Seetoh.  He is known to be the Food Guide Maven.  Check out www.makansutra.com for more about him.

In addition, I would also like to thank the manager for encouraging the kids to participate in a game.  Even if she didn’t guess right, they still gave her a prize.

I would also like to commend the clean and artistic rest room and wash area.

Definitely going back to Makansutra to try the other hawkers!  See you there!

Hong Kong Food Trip 2017 Part 2

During our first 2 days here in Hong Kong, we managed to go to some of the best food places around the city, check Hong Kong Food Trip 2017, but the journey of finding the best places doesn’t end there.  So let’s get it on!

The Spaghetti House offered a Lobster and Scallops Pasta Meal at a discount.

The Lobster Bisque is good.  However, the angel hair pasta is a little bland.

Sometimes, it’s nice to take a breather and enjoy the simpler food.

Macaroni Soup with Dumplings and Kong Chay Mi (Noodles) with Dumplings plus some rice toppings. Yummy dinner for the night.

Just before we go to an all day shopping spree at Sham Shui Po, had a heavy lunch at OMQ Dining Room.  It’s a themed resto inspired by the star of a Chinese Comic Strip, Lao Hu Tzi.

Lots of pictures for a nicely interiored resto.

After an hour or 2 of shopping, found ourselves again in front of food!

This is a very known Noodle House in Sham Shui Po, so famous that it opened 3 branches beside each other, just to accommodate all their patrons.

The noodle actually has Pig Liver as its main topping.

Our merienda stuck to me until dinnertime so no more dinner and breakfast for me!

Lunch is a bit heavy.  One of the best Hainanese Chicken I have ever tasted!

In case you miss its many branches when in the city, you can have your last chance at the airport. Tsui Wah is the name.  They are famous for their milk tea as well.

Food: Pansit

I just have to share with you one of the best pansits in town!

Just the way I like it.

Hot. All pansit (noodles) and minimal sahog (toppings). Not too salty. Very tasty!

Yummy! Eating it for breakfast now.

You can find them at Hormiga Street in Binondo Manila.  It is just a small carenderia that caters to the employees of nearby offices.

Happy Friday everyone!
