Voucher Review: Nuat Thai Anti-Stress Royal Massage + Foot Reflexology

This massage date with hubby was supposed to be last week, but since we didn’t make an appointment and reserve a slot, Nuat Thai 500 Shaw Branch can’t accommodate us anymore.  So, I set an appointment for today.

We got here at 3 pm. We were called in after 5 minutes or so.  I like that Nuat Thai wash a client’s feet before starting any massage.  It’s situated right after the reception area.  I feel very clean.

After washing, we were sitted in the foot reflexology area.  The chair is reclined and you put your feet up in a soft ottomon-like chair.

I feel very comfortable as the masseuse does reflexology on my very tired feet.  Oh, it feels so good!

I am getting so sleepy… “Zzzz…. Zzzz… Zzzz…”

The whole reflexology part focuses on your feet up to your lower legs. I don’t know how you call what they did, they press the pressure points really hard so it releases tension.  A must try!

After around 20 minutes of reflexology, we were told to transfer to our respective rooms.  This is how it looks.

Like their Traditional Thai Massage, they do the massage on the floor.  So I asked Sophia if the Anti-Stress is just like the Thai Massage. I actually didn’t hear her answer as she whispered it.

Anyway, I have to tell you!!! This is one of the BEST massages I ever had!!! It’s a combination of Swedish (oil is used), Thai (stretching at the end) and the Pressure Point thingy.  The massage lasted an hour and a half.  It’s that long!
Every now and then, I kept on thinking, we are almost done. And then Sophia will tell me to sit or to lie or change into a different position.

What I liked about the massage was that it focused on the catch basin of our body stress, which is the shoulders, the back and the legs.  In the Philippines, we have this thing called “Lamig” which is caused by stress on the shoulders.  She really pressed and knuckled it all away!  My back’s a little sore now from all the rubbing and knuckling, but hey, I am still feeling good and I am pretty sure my body thinks so too!

I remember letting out Oohhsss and Aaaahhs as Sophia stretched my whole body and I hear my bones crackling!  That felt so great!

I’m definitely going back for another Anti-Stress Royal Body Massage!  Another good thing about this, we got this on a super deal from Ensogo!  Half the price at Php375, instead of Php550 for the Body Massage and another Php300 or so for the Foot Reflexology.

Isn’t it the best deal ever? So sulit! So worth it!!

A Date with the Hubby!

While its important to spend quality time with the children, it’s definitely as important to spend time with the husband!
One Saturday night, Hubby and I decided to have a date!  We were supposed to watch the Sarah G and JLC movie, It takes a Man and a Woman, at the Robinson’s Magnolia.  But tickets were already sold out for the schedule we want to watch.  We decided to just have dinner instead then went home afterwards.  We were able to watch the movie the next night though.

We have heard about Yabu months back, but it was only now that we were able to try it out.

yabu2

We checked out their menu and here are what we chose for the night, the Menchi Katsu Set, the Seafood Katsu Set and the Tonkatsu Set. All sets are served with unlimited Japanese rice, miso soup, Japanese pickles, cabbage with sesame dressing and a bowl of fruit.  Upon checking their official website, Yabu.ph, the Menchi Set is a delicious mix of minced premium beef and pork covered in crunchy panko filled with oozing creamy cheese.  Its definitely a must-try for cheese lovers like me!  We tried the Soft Shell Crab under the Seafood Katsu Set Category, it is composed of one luscious Japanese soft-shell crab, coated generously with fresh panko, fried to crispy perfection.  This one’s very yummy!  Imagine, you can eat the whole crab!  For the Tonkatsu set, we chose the Rosu Set, it’s a 3/4 inch-thick Rosu (porkloin), with a sliver of glistening fat trimming its edges and deep-fried in crisp golden panko.  This set is nothing out of the extraordinary.  But still yummy too!

For an average eater, eating at Yabu can be very overwhelming!  I love their concept of everything unlimited.  You can really eat to your satisfaction!  I also love that you make your own sauce.  Its like you play and pound the sesame for fun first before actually using it as sauce to eat your Katsu!
Really a place to check out.  Worth every peso you’ll spend!

Voucher Review – Metrodeal – Ibayo by Barrio Fiesta

When: November 13, 2011
Where: Ibayo by Barrio Fiesta / Mall of Asia San Miguel by the Bay
What: Crispy Pata and Pork Sisig with a bucket of Coors Light
Price: Php 455.00 valued at Php 918.00 / savings: Php 463.00

Groupon Site: Metrodeal / Deal Here

This is by far the best deal we have gotten ever! Never mind the 1 hour wait!  Never mind that we were never answered in our phone calls!  Never mind that we were situated just beside the bar where no table can be seen before!

The yummy and crispy pata and the tasty sisig made it all worth it!  The team of the friendliest staff was a plus for us husband and wife!

The long line was due to the Filipinos’ Manana Habit, which in Tagalog is “mamaya na!” The voucher will be expiring on the 15th! That is simply why the queue was 3 pages of yellow pad today! When we got there, we were asked to register in that yellow pad! Told to wait by the ever smiling receptionists.

It is going to be a long wait, we know, so we strolled by the boardwalk first.  It is a breezy evening too! We’re cool to wait, literally! We got back to the waiting area and we happily seated ourselves and even took a picture!

When it was our turn, we were seated beside the bar. The crispy pata was immediately served. It does look good and crunchy!

And then the bucket of Coors Light Beer.

And then the pork sisig. I don’t eat sisig but I did have a taste tonight because D told me it was good.

Oh! The food was really so yummy! Look at us husband and wife, smiling because of our food!

And here’s another picture of me totally devouring the crispy pata! Sarap to the bones!

We really enjoyed this deal.  Everything was worth it.

Too bad I wasn’t able to take a picture of the friendliest staff I have ever met! Even though the place was jampacked and they were uber tired already, you can still see them smiling at you! Now, that’s what I call good service!

This definitely gets a perfect score! 5 out of 5 stars for me!

Till our next visit! PS. I already have another voucher! Hehe!

gelato ice cream

They say eating ice cream is a no-no for pregnant women like me. I have also been staying away from this yummy food for awhile now.  Even if it’s scorching outside.

But recently, when we had dinner with some friends at Amici in Greenhills. I was able to eat a cup of gelato ice cream! Pumayag si Dennis! Yey!

Here’s a picture of me smiling and holding my ice cream! After 6 whole months, finally. I savored every bite and every scoop. Yummy!
