Who deserves the support better?
I am not a fan of both sport, but upon hearing the story of the Philippine Dragon Boat Federation Team I can’t help but wonder, why are the Azkals having so much support when they keep on losing on their tournaments? Fans are going gaga over them because some of the members are cute! And just that!
Meanwhile, this team who brings glory to our country doesn’t even have enough to buy their own paddles and pay for their airfare! I even heard a story that some of the paddlers had to borrow paddles from their rivals just to compete! That is just sad!
See news from ABS-CBN after PDBF won championships in Tampa, Florida! It related how many golds the team took home and how they got support from all over! And most especially, how people wanted to wear their uniforms because they felt like champions too when they are wearing them!
Thanks to those Pinoys abroad who supported the team in their own little and big ways! You showed the world how Filipinos are! Bayanihan at its best!
Calling on government officials, this is your time to shine! Support PDBF and give them all their needs. They are just too good to pass up! Even without the proper equipments, they still came out as champions! What more if they have?
